Encountering Ecclesiastes: A Book for Our Time

Description Ecclesiastes is one of the most mysterious books in the Bible. It’s a book of common sense/practical wisdom mixed with dismantling and brutal honesty about ourselves and our world. It doesn’t pull any punches, but it doesn’t disappoint either. This class is offered in a new format for Calvary - an eight week online video course. Each week, a 30 minute video will be made available online and you can watch and participate in discussion at your convenience from any location you’d like.

Leader Isaac Gaff is the Managing Director of Worship and Creative Arts at Calvary.

A Word from the Leader “As a person who tends to lean skeptical, I love that Ecclesiastes says in essence “fine, let’s be skeptical and follow that through, let’s not be afraid to really contemplate ourselves and this world as it is.” That kind of honesty - the kind that leaves no room for sentimentality and an unexamined life – has been incredibly foundational to the faith of many throughout the history of the world. It’s been an essential part of my spiritual journey and I hope it’s helpful to you as well.”
