Head Ushers are in charge of placing ushers in respective positions for serving people in the service. They oversee ushering within the sanctuary and "float" throughout the service to see that everything is going well. They give instructions to ushers, acolytes, communion servers (if needed), and are prepared for any emergencies. They have the bulletins ready to pass out, name tags and stoles ready for use, and instruct volunteers in every aspect of the service if necessary. They help clean up after their respective service, ensure that the attendance pads are collected, put name tags back, and help with dismissal.
Sunday mornings 30 minutes prior to each service. Most volunteers commit to serving as Head Usher for a specific month. Other volunteers commit to one time a month or as needed.
They meet so many people and see a lot of new faces! It is fun!
