Name: Rev. Randy Reese
Staff Position: Directing Pastor
What do you do at Calvary?: I am privileged to preach, to teach, to administer the sacraments, to nurture, to heal, to gather the community in worship, and to send them forth in witness. I am charged with the leadership of the people of God through the ministries of Service, Word, Sacrament, and Order. The Church's ministry of service is a primary representation of God's love. In a general yet somewhat concise manner, through my personal faith in Christ and my commitment to him as Savior and Lord, I nurture and cultivate the spiritual disciplines and patterns of holiness, teach and model generous Christian living and giving, give my myself completely to ministry following Jesus' pattern of love and service, communicate the Christian faith in both oral and written form, lead the whole church in loving service to humankind, be a person in whom the community can place trust and confidence, accept the Scripture as containing all things necessary for salvation through faith in God through Jesus Christ, and lead the church in making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
My wife Debbie and I share the role of Co-pastors at Calvary UMC, having been appointed by Bishop Jonathan A. Keaton to serve God at this church.
