Come join the fun on Wednesday, February 6th from 6-7pm in the gym as we gather as a church family. We'll begin with a meal (sign-up for a La Gondola meal, bring your own meal or eat before you come and simply enjoy the time with others). After we eat, we will assemble Blessing Bags and Fleece Blankets for Home Sweet Home Ministries. All people of all ages are welcome and encouraged to be part of this evening. If you have a pair of sewing scissors, please bring them to help cut fleece. Sign-up here or at a Connections Center Kiosk.
Blessing Bags will be assembled as part of February's First Wednesday. Needed items are durable, good-quality socks, toothbrushes, travel-size toothpaste, lip balm, and small sunscreen. Bring items to the blue tub in the Atrium before Wednesday, January 23.
After the holidays, blood is in especially short supply. Please sign up to give blood at Calvary on Monday, January 21st. It is so easy to give and you will know you are helping others in a very important way. The hours are 9am - 6pm, and you can sign up by calling the church office, emailing Angie Bicknell or by calling Nancy Behrens at 309-261-6407 or emailing Nancy. Please join us for this important post-holiday opportunity!
Due to the pile up of snow and side streets that have not yet been cleared, this event has been rescheduled for February 20th.
Parkside elementary is looking for 100 adults or more to line the sidewalks at Parkside to cheer on and encourage students as they return to school on Wednesday, February 20th from 7:15-8:15am. You can cheer, whistle, clap, sing, and shout words of encouragement along with the Parkside Promise Council members. Students who feel supported and encouraged do better in school. The Parkside Promise Council strives to give every student the opportunity to succeed through education. If you have questions or would like to sign up, you can contact the Promise Council.
