Habitat for Humanity 2019

Habitat Sign Up 2019.jpg

This year Calvary Outreach has made the commitment to help support the building of another Habitat home. Volunteers are asked to sign up this Sunday at a kiosk to help with construction, provide refreshments or work at the restore. No experience is needed, tools are provided. Thirty-seven Calvary volunteers worked 280 plus hours on the Methodist house last year.

Food Box

Food Box 2019-03.jpg

The brown box just inside our front doors are helping many families. That means we are often running very low on food. If you are able, would you consider buying one extra item each week and bringing it for the box? Please leave food on the counter behind the welcome center. We can use boxed items, cereal, canned goods, peanut butter and pasta. This would give us an ongoing supply of food for those struggling to feed their families. Thank you!

Haiti Mission Team

Haiti Team (1).jpg

A team from Calvary will be traveling to northern Haiti again this year from May 24 – June 3. The team will partner with Haitian organizations on a variety of projects. Team members witness God’s love pouring out on the children and adults as well as making friendships that can last a life time. Individuals team members have the opportunity to learn about themselves, strengthen their relationship with God, and truly make a difference in the lives of people in Haiti.

The purpose of the Haiti Mission Team is to provide moral, physical and financial support to the people of Haiti. We want to ensure everything we do fits the Haitian culture and their needs, not what we think they need. With every project we do, we include the Haitian people in the planning, design, organizing and implementation of the project. We strive to have as much work done by the Haitian community as possible.

Our vision is that what we do will be based on what we feel God is leading us to do. For example, will the community of Fev be a better place in the future because of what we have done there? All that we do reflects the values of the Haitian culture and not what we think they need.

Please stop by and see one of the Haiti team members at the Connection Center Atrium Kiosk with questions you may have about the trip. Also, check out the photos showing the progress of the church build that Calvary is supporting in the village of Fev, Haiti.

Calvary is excited to partner with Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington/Normal. Home Sweet Home Ministries demonstrates Christ's love through innovative approaches that instill hope, restore lives, and build community.

Their vision is to be a ministry of refuge and renewal powered by Jesus Christ.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the way they serve those in need at Home Sweet Home Ministries. Every year, volunteers dedicate over 48,000 hours of service to accomplish their mission and vision.

HSHM is always in need of volunteers who love to work with their hands. For example:

  • Monthly deep cleaning of shelter.

  • Light handy work.

  • Groundskeeping during summer months.

  • Furniture moving as needed.

  • Painting as needed.

  • Light construction as needed.

  • Vacuum Repairs

You can sign up to volunteer here  or stop by the HSHM atrium kiosk on Sunday morning. Interested in providing financial support? Click here.
