Dear Calvary Faithful,

It’s that time of year again when we develop a plan to fund Calvary’s budget for 2021. This past year has been quite a challenge in many ways, but Calvary remains in a strong financial position.  Faithful, consistent giving by so many of you has enabled the ministries of Calvary to continue even during this global pandemic.

The importance of pledging has been demonstrated this year as those who have pledged have provided over 75% of our support so far in 2020. Through the end of September, our total giving is behind our expenses by approximately $50,000. Even though our actual giving is more than $200,000 below budget, careful expense management has kept us within this $50,000.

Our Pastors and staff, with the help of many lay members, have been able to keep our ministries strong through online worship, creative ways to hold meetings and fellowship, and a deep commitment to keep us connected as much as we possibly can, while being safe from this Covid-19 Pandemic.

2021 remains uncertain, but Calvary is committed to continuing as many of our ministries as possible, whether online or in person, as the year unfolds. We intend to work toward a zero-increase budget for 2021.

Now is the time for you to consider your level of support for 2021. We ask that you complete the online pledge form (via the button at the bottom of this page), which will help your finance committee know what can be counted on for this coming year in ministry together.

Joy comes from being faithful and identifying with Jesus. Help us continue to share the good news that Jesus is the Christ!

“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” (Proverbs 22:9.)

We know that some of you may be uncertain about your financial situation for 2021, therefore, we are offering an option to commit to giving when able, without a specific pledge amount.  A special note for those over 70 ½, there is a great opportunity to have your gifts to the Church from an IRA qualify as part, or all of your required minimum distribution, without having it count as taxable income.

We would like to hear from everyone by the first Sunday of Advent, November 29.

We are praying for your faithful response,

The Finance Committee
